Background
The deployment of staffing level at each school in the division shall be guided by the following procedure.
This procedure is subject to existing Board of Education Policy, CUPE Agreement, LINC Agreement, Teacher's Provincial Collective Agreement and Horizon Support Staff Association working conditions.

The deployment of staffing level at each school in the division shall be guided by the following procedure.
This procedure is subject to existing Board of Education Policy, CUPE Agreement, LINC Agreement, Teacher's Provincial Collective Agreement and Horizon Support Staff Association working conditions.
Procedures
1. Professional Staff
1.1. The Horizon School Division shall staff all schools based on the needs of the division and the school.
1.2. Upon receipt of the projected school commencement enrolments, the calculations will commence for the upcoming school year in February. These projections shall be based on current school attendees and known projections. Kindergarten listings will be on a name basis, as will be those class situations where students have optional attendance choices.
1.3. The time allocation for teaching staff assigned to kindergarten will be based upon half the instructional hours assigned to student programming in grades one (1) – twelve (12).
1.4. Kindergarten operations in the Horizon School Division will comply with legislation and will be scheduled in accordance with the school year calendar approved by the Board of Education.
1.5. Kindergarten students shall begin school on the same day as all other students and will be time tabled through to the end of June. Any exceptions to this shall require prior approval of the Director of Education (or designate).
Adjustments in staffing due to unforeseen situations will be dealt with on an individual basis and can be made at any point in the school year by the Director of Education (or designate).2. Support Staff
2.1. The Horizon School Division shall staff all schools based on the needs of the division and the school.

2.3. Library, Secretarial, Educational Assistant and Custodial Support in each school shall be assigned based on the needs of the division and the needs of the school by the Director of Education (or designate) through consultation with the school principal.
2.4 Adjustments in staffing due to unforeseen situations will be dealt with on an individual basis and can be made at any point in the school year by the Director of Education (or designate).
