Last update: April 12, 2024
Dear Horizon students, staff, families, and community members,
You have reached Horizon's dedicated page for the latest updates on the ongoing job action by the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation (STF).
The safety and well-being of our students and staff is our highest priority, and we are committed to maintaining open lines of communication regarding changes to schedules and impacts on school operations. We will communicate updates through email, text, here on our website at horizonsd.ca/STFJobAction/, and on our social media channels.
Please see below to read about Horizon's procedures and safety measures around each type of job action. As always, reach out to your school principal or my office with any questions or concerns.
Yours in Education,
Kevin C. Garinger B.Ed., M.A.Ed., Ed.D. (Candidate)
Director of Education/CEO
Horizon School Division No. 205
Background: The STF and the Government of Saskatchewan, through the Government-Trustee Bargaining Committee, have been working to negotiate a new collective agreement. Horizon School Division’s Board of Education and Director's office respect STF members' rights to engage in the processes that are involved in reaching a collective agreement and remain hopeful that a fair agreement will be reached.
