Horizon’s September 30 Student Enrolment Increased For Fourth Consecutive Year

Humboldt, SK – Horizon School Division is pleased to share that PreKindergarten to Grade 12 enrolment has risen to 6,701 students as of Sept. 30, 2024. This includes 179 home-school students not otherwise enrolled in a Horizon school.

This number is up from 6,555 students in September, 2023, and marks the fourth consecutive year of increased enrolment in the division.

“It is an honour to be trusted with the growth and learning of our students, and we are deeply committed to the responsibility this entails,” said Kevin C. Garinger, Director of Education. “Horizon School Division’s dedicated staff and Board of Education strive to create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where each student has the opportunity to thrive and succeed.”

Schools with an increased enrolment of 10 per cent or more include LeRoy, Punnichy Elementary Community, Punnichy Community High, Viscount Central, Winston High, and Wynyard Composite High schools. Schools with a decrease of 10 per cent or more include Drake, George Gordon Education Centre, and Wadena Composite High schools.
