This presentation is open to parents/caregivers, families and community members. It will take place at the Humboldt Uniplex Curling Rink on Tuesday, April 25, beginning at 6:30 PM. The high-tech world of social media brings incredible new opportunities but also brings about significant challenges for our youth. Keeping up with the latest technological trends, fads, and apps is becoming increasingly difficult for parents looking out for the physical and mental well-being of their kids.

In this presentation, Dr. Alec Couros will give you a sense of what your children may be up to online and provide tips and suggestions for parents trying their best to keep afloat in this ever-changing reality.

Topics addressed will include:

- The ins and outs of popular apps
- Digital footprint, reputation, and public shaming
- Online privacy and safety
- Inappropriate content and sexting
- Catfishing and identity theft
- Mental health and wellness
- Developing a positive digital identity

Science Fair in Regina

​May 2017

Canada’s brightest young scientists will be in Regina May 14-20 for the 56th edition of the Canada-Wide Science Fair.

The event will feature 500 students and their 400 projects that have earned top marks at regional science fairs across the country. The event is expected to attract about 6,000 visitors to the Regina area, making this Canada’s largest youth science competition. Visitors will include 500 volunteers, 350 judges, 200 chaperones and the public.
