In an effort to improve student retention and success beyond school, Punnichy Community High School, in collaboration with the George Gordons, Muskowekwan, and Daystar First Nations have begun the Career Transition Initiative, which offers students credits for high school and technical school at the same time. This allows students to meet their requirements for graduation as well as leave with a varied portfolio of experience.
Currently the program offers:

Career and Work Exploration:
This course allows students to explore the skills necessary for work and gets them work experience in the surrounding communities.
This program talks about the necessary sklills to create and run a business. It introduces and reinforces leadership skills while giving students a chance to run a small business of their choice for several days at the end of the block.
