The Saskatchewan Taekwon-Do Federation International (STFI) held their provincial championships in Regina on March 11, and two Horizon students came away with multiple medals. Tiara Pelletier (student at Punnichy Community High School) won two gold and her younger sister, Natalie Bitternose (student at George Gordon Education Centre), won two bronze -- one each in the categories of Sparring and Patterns. The sisters have been training in Regina year-round, twice a week, and that training has clearly paid off.

"It feels great," said Tiara of her gold-medal wins. "I was pretty amazed to see the judges' flags and know that i won."

From the STFI website: STFI is a non-profit organization, affiliated with the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF). Founded in 1984 by Master Clint Norman (8th Degree Black Belt), STFI has expanded around the province with clubs in Regina, Saskatoon, Balgonie, Prince Albert, Humboldt, Annaheim, Quill Lake and Watson. STFI clubs have developed over a hundred National Champions and many world class athletes.
