AP 310 - Faith-Based Education at Englefeld School
Background

A Christian, faith-based learning environment is offered at Englefeld School located in Englefeld, SK as a unique and diverse learning opportunity for students of Horizon School Division. Englefeld School provides Horizon students with an opportunity to achieve their academic goals while developing their spirituality in a non-denominational, Christian environment. Prayer, self-reflection, and the demonstration of Christian values through community service are integral components of the faith-based program offered at Englefeld School. 

A Christian perspective is integrated into all areas of study through ongoing study of the bible and its principles and relevance in today’s society, daily prayer and devotions with regular chapels, and community service. All students enrolled in Englefeld School shall participate in all religious activities and celebrations provided by the school. All prospective students as well as their parents or guardians shall be advised by the School Principal of the nature, characteristics, and expectations that relate to religious instruction at Englefeld School prior to registration in the school.

Procedures

1.  Students and families from all faiths and cultures are welcome to attend Englefeld School. Prospective Christian and non-Christian students shall be admitted to Englefeld School as follows:
1.1.  Prospective Christian students whose parent(s) or guardian(s) reside in the Division are permitted to register in Englefeld School provided they meet the general student registration requirements for admittance outlined in AP 300 – Student Registration.
1.2.  Prospective non-Christian students whose parents or guardians reside in the Division are permitted to register in Englefeld School provided:
    • they meet the general student registration requirements for admittance outlined in AP 300 – Student Registration; and
    • their parent(s)/caregivers) attend a meeting with the School Principal prior to registration and complete form AF-310.1 – Non-ChristianStudent Declaration of Intent indicating their desire for their children to participate in all elements of the religious education program and the religious activities and celebrations of Englefeld School.
2.  The provision and availability of transportation services will be determined by the Director of Education, or designate.
