Horizon Board Selects Chair, Vice-Chair at Annual Organizational Meeting

The Horizon School Division Board of Education held its annual organizational meeting on Wednesday, November 7. Nominations were made for the Board's table officer positions of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson. Jim Hack will remain in the position of Board Chair, and Linda Mattock was elected to the Vice-Chair position.

"I want to thank my fellow trustees for the nomination, and for their confidence to have me contine as Board Chair for another year," said Mr. Hack. "I also want to thank Wil Lengyel for his work as Vice-Chair these past several years. I am proud of the work we have done, and the work we will continue to do as a Board, serving the students, staff and communities of Horizon School Division."

"I am honoured to serve as the Vice-Chair of Horizon's Board of Education, and I thank my fellow trustees for their nomination and votes," Ms. Mattock said. "I bring a passion for education to this role, and I look forward to the opportunity to further serve our students and staff."

Mr. Hack has served as Board Chair for Horizon School Division since 2011. He also serves as trustee for Subdivision 10, which includes Ituna School, Foam Lake Composite High School and Foam Lake Elementary School. Ms. Mattock has served as trustee for Subdivision 2 since 2016. Subdivision 2 includes Humboldt Collegiate Institute, Humboldt Public School, Lake Lenore School, St. Brieux School, Annaheim School and Three Lakes School in Middle Lake. Ms. Mattock is taking over as Vice-Chair from Mr. Wil Lengyel. Mr. Lengyel serves as trustee for Subdivision 7 and served as Vice-Chair from 2015 to 2018 and 2011 to 2014.
